Suspended Campus Activity at 1pm

Florida Institute of Technology , RSS

Florida Institute of Technology is suspending all normal operations and canceling all classes effective 1 p.m. today, Wednesday, Oct. 5. This will permit faculty, staff and students time to make necessary arrangements to ensure their safety in advance of the approaching hurricane, as some areas are under evacuation orders.

Classes remain canceled and normal operations suspended Thursday and Friday, Oct. 6 and 7. Weekend activities, including athletic events, are also suspended. The university will resume normal operations Tuesday, Oct. 11, following Monday’s Columbus Day holiday.

Only essential Florida Tech employees, as notified by their supervisors, must report during these times.

Those individuals living off-campus should pay close attention to evacuation orders or other direction from local authorities. Those living on campus should follow the directions of Residence Life and Campus Security personnel. Everyone should be thinking about their personal emergency plans and preparing for the hurricane.

Stay tuned to the Florida Tech homepage for any additional information. Thank you.
