CITY HOSTING SUNSHINE LAW SEMINAR FOR CITIZENS

 

(Kirksville, MO)  The City of Kirksville has partnered with the Missouri Attorney General’s Office to host a free Sunshine Law Seminar for the general public on Friday, December 14, 2018, at 6:00 pm. This seminar will be held at the City’s Economic Development Alliance Building, located at 315 S. Franklin St. No registration or tickets are required to attend the event.

 

The seminar will feature Casey Lawrence, Director of Sunshine Law Compliance with the Missouri Attorney General’s Office. Ms. Lawrence will both present on the Sunshine Law, which was passed by the Missouri General Assembly in 1973, and answer any questions regarding the law. The Sunshine Law is designed to ensure that meetings, records, votes, actions, and deliberations of public governmental bodies be open to the public unless otherwise provided by law.
