(Kirksville, MO)  The Kirksville Parks and Recreation fall dinner theater, Songs for a New World, opens this week! Performances will be Thursday, September 13 through Saturday, September 15, 2018, and Thursday, September 20 through Saturday, September 22, 2018, with dinner at 6:00 pm, and the show to follow, at Jackson Stables. Tickets are $25 per person and must be purchased in advance at the Aquatic Center, located at 801 E. Mill St., or online at parks.kirksvillecity.com.

Songs for a New World is a musical, according to composer Jason Robert Brown, “about one moment. It’s about hitting the wall and having to make a choice, or take a stand, or turn around and go back.” A small but powerful, diverse cast, and a supercharged, well-crafted score appeal to old and new generations alike as each character – in their own way – takes hold of that one moment and enters a new world.
