YMCA SITE NO LONGER UNDER CONSIDERATION AS POSSIBLE LOCATION FOR NEW AQUATIC FACILITY

(Kirksville, MO)  The Adair County YMCA Board of Directors has informed City staff that the YMCA intends to retain the land west of the YMCA facility that was identified as a possible location for the City of Kirksville’s new aquatic facility and community center. In a letter to City staff, the YMCA’s Board of Directors explained that they carefully considered the City’s request to purchase the land dependent on if the land was selected as the best fit for the project. The Board of Directors explained that the land is currently used throughout the year for various children’s sports and other community activities.

The YMCA Board of Directors is excited about the City’s desire to build a new aquatic facility and community center, and they look forward to working collaboratively with the City to offer quality programming opportunities for the community.
