COVID-19 case report – Jan. 4-5, 2021

Jan. 5: Two COVID-19 cases

  • One employee who has been out of state and had no contacts at SOU reported testing positive for COVID-19, and completed isolation on Jan. 1.
  • One student who lives in student and family housing with a roommate tested positive for COVID-19 and contact tracing was performed. The student, who has not been in any SOU buildings, is in isolation and the roommate is in quarantine.

Jan. 4: 10 COVID-19 cases

  • Eight students reported testing positive for COVID-19 over winter break. Four tested positive prior to Dec. 9 and have completed their isolation; four are currently in isolation at locations away from campus. None of the eight are believed to have been on campus or had contact with other students or employees while infectious.
  • One employee who has not been on campus and has not had contact with other employees or students tested positive for COVID-19. The employee is in isolation and contact tracing was performed.
  • One student who lives off-campus with two roommates tested positive for COVID-19. The student is in isolation and the roommates are quarantined; no other students or employees are believed to have been exposed.
